Angus MacKechnie

Executive Director

Angus joined ISAN as Executive Director in July 2015. Prior to that he worked at the National Theatre in London for over thirty years, serving under five different Directorships and running a wide variety of projects, largely related to audience engagement. He became Producer and Programmer of two National Theatre departments: the Watch This Space Festival of Outdoor Arts and entertainment and the Platform programme of talks, debates, playreadings and interviews. He produced the NT2000 project, which charted 100 years of English-speaking theatre; the NT50 series, marking the theatre’s fiftieth anniversary and wrote and co-directed the gala for Laurence Olivier’s centenary. As an interviewer he chaired events with, amongst many others, Judi Dench, Alan Bennett, Fiona Shaw, Nicholas Hytner, Frances de la Tour and Marianne Elliott. In 2004 he received the Rayne Award for his services to the company. He undertook the Performing Arts Consortium Fellowship on the Clore Cultural Leadership Programme in 2014, undertaking a secondment with People United with mentoring by David Lan and Genista McIntosh. He is a Life Coach, having qualified with Relational Dynamics in 2015 and previously ran a small-scale touring theatre company and worked as an actor, director and writer, after training on the Professional Acting course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He recently worked as director on two pieces with the circus/dance company Joli Vyann and served on the boards of Mimbre and Upswing. @AngusMackers

Catherine Packard

Company Administrator

Catherine has worked for ISAN as a freelance project manager since 2016, and has been engaged in festival and event management, programming, community engagement and education for over 25 years. Catherine was employed, for 5 years up until 2015, as building and events manager at RIBA award winning Lumen Church, a bustling central London venue and community hub, where she developed a wide ranging arts and exhibitions programme. Catherine has a background in photography, live art and making, and was awarded an Artsadmin bursary to develop her own practice in 2002. She is currently enjoying working in the ISAN office, and getting to know a lot more about the fabulous Outdoor Arts sector.

Laura Mason


Communications Intern

Laura joined ISAN as Communications Intern in May 2017. She splits her time between ISAN and Circulate, a group of four London venues working together to bring outstanding Outdoor Arts to Outer London. She graduated in 2016 with a degree in Theatre and Performance Studies from the University of Warwick where she produced multiple student productions and ran a festival of new writing. Prior to ISAN she has worked at Warwick Arts Centre and a music charity in Camden, running their social media sites and co-ordinating events. An aspiring arts producer, she has also co-produced an event for Roundhouse Rising Festival and works as Marketing Assistant for a children’s theatre company in Kent.
